May 5th coincides with the 16th of Ordibehesht, designated by the World Health Organization as “World Hand Hygiene Day.” This observance underscores the importance and role of hand hygiene, advocating for the enhancement of knowledge and skills among healthcare workers through innovative and impactful approaches. The Environmental Health and Infection Control Unit, in collaboration with the Hospital Psychiatric Health Promotion Unit of Iranians, implements diverse programs including handwashing and disinfection training for female students at elementary schools, educating hospital staff with awards presented by the esteemed hospital administration, educating clinic visitors, distributing educational pamphlets in this field, and continuing education for patients.
