biography of Dr. Izadi
Dr. Izadi's biography
Dr. Izadi, born in Yazd, had a profound interest in the medical profession from childhood, influenced by his father's career as a physician. After completing his primary and secondary education in his hometown, he moved to Tehran and enrolled at Tehran University School of Medicine, where he earned his MD degree.
During his medical studies, Dr. Izadi developed a keen interest in psychiatry. While in his fourth year of medical school, he began working as a resident intern in psychiatric hospitals in Tehran (including Cherazi, Miment, Rozbeh, and Razi psychiatric hospitals). After obtaining his MD degree from Tehran University School of Medicine, he was employed as a preventive physician in the fifth province (Kermanshah and current Hamedan). Subsequently, he passed the residency exam in psychiatry and initially worked as a resident physician in the psychiatry department at Rozbeh Hospital. After completing his residency training, he obtained his specialization degree in psychiatry. Additionally, he underwent specialized training in psychotherapy under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Sanaei.
Dr. Izadi participated in the assistant professorship examination and, upon winning, began working as an assistant professor in the psychiatry department. He then traveled to London for further training and successfully completed the required courses and examinations at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, obtaining the title of MRCPsych. Shortly after, he became an associate professor in the psychiatry department at Tehran University School of Medicine.
During his tenure as an educational instructor, Dr. Izadi served as the head of Rozbeh Hospital and the director of the psychiatric education department. It was during his leadership that the hardship allowance for psychiatric hospital staff was approved, and ownership of the adjacent building to Rozbeh Hospital was transferred to Tehran University. Unfortunately, due to inadequate facilities, this opportunity for the hospital's development was lost shortly after his resignation.
Throughout his educational and research career, Dr. Izadi was actively involved in teaching various aspects of psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychological theories at different educational institutions, including medical schools and nursing schools. He also contributed significantly to the field through publications and research endeavors.
Dr. Izadi, along with several close friends who were all psychiatrists, founded the Psychometric Assessment Company in 1988 with the hope of establishing a high-level psychiatric hospital. After thirteen years of continuous effort, this group succeeded in operating the Iranians Hospital in late December 2001.
